Ever vigilant forum lurker Morgoth tipped us about this article, explaining a bit of the background to the new movie Humboldt County, starring our own Fairuza Balk. Although IMDB makes no mention of her involvement, it seems pretty confirmed that she will play a major part in this movie.

I just randomly visited Fairuza.com to see if anything had changed. Since the last update was from a couple of years ago, I didn’t really expect much. To my, and all the Fairuza fans out there, happy surprise the site is back! The front page carried this explanation:
Well im back kind of after a long bout with cancer. Im going to start putting some new pictures up and try to let you know what she is doing now. This site will always stay up because a friend of mine is hosting it so it doesn’t cost me anything.

It seems a band called “The Lawnmowers” have written and recorded a song about our dear Fairuza. Quite logically titled “Fairuza Balk”, it involves the singer wanting to talk with her, and also wanting Ru to “take off her skin and send it to me” (huh?)
For those who want to hear it, go to the website and navigate your way to the music section, and thereafter clicking the song. The site requires Flash (get it here).
The tip came from forum user Morgoth.

Fairuza talking about her long awaited comeback to the big screen:
“I just try to do things that I think will be good, it’s that simple,” Balk revealed in January at the Sundance Film Festival where Don’t Come Knocking screened prior to its U.S. theatrical release. “When I’m an old lady and I look back at my life, not just my work, but my life, I want to say, ‘Good, I did do the best that I could and I tried to make decisions for the right reasons.'”

Fairuza Balk, known for her volatile, eccentric roles in films like “The Craft”, gets downright matronly in the upcoming drama “Wild Tigers I Have Known”, which recently debuted at Sundance. “I get to play a mom for the first time”, the 31-year-old laughed, “which freaked me out because I’m not a mother.” The indie film, expected to hit theaters later this year, is “about a prepubescent boy coming of age [who is a] homosexual but he doesn’t know it yet.”
Citing the recent success of “Brokeback Mountain”, Balk said such trends need to be supported. She insisted that the film is a sensitive exploration of the self-discovery of a teen’s homosexuality “and how awkward it is for people growing up,” adding, “[‘Tigers’] is a very important film to show people that others might have had the same experiences.” …
