Bad Lieutenant Blu-Ray in February

According to this item at Blu-Ray.com, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans will be released on the Blu-Ray format (and, one presumes, DVD also) on February 23. Contrary to some headlines, this does not constitute a straight to video release, as it is still on track for a limited theatrical run in November. Hopefully, if response is as good as most early reviews, it could still expand out for that, some feel it deserves it.

Going In To Sin City

UPDATE: Balk has reportedly cancelled her appearance at the convention “…due to accepting a film role which will be shooting as the convention”.  Whether this schedule conflict relates to Thicker or another as yet unknown project is unclear.

Going to the Freakshow in Orlando

Fairuza to attend Horrorfind Weekend in MD.

Fairuza will be in Hunt Valley, MD.  September 25-27 for the Horrorfind Weekend convention. Balk To Attend First Ever ABQ Film Festival

Early next month (Aug. 6-9) Ru is scheduled to attend the Albuquerque Film Festival’s first time out. Details are sketchy at present, but keep an eye on the fest’s official site for more details. Other guests include Giancarlo Esposito (of The Usual Suspects and more recently the drug kingpin/fast food magnate of New Mexico in AMC network’s Breaking Bad),  Luce Rains (3:10 to Yuma, No Country for Old Men, Appaloosa), Marvel Comics director of games Todd Jefferson, Special Effects artist Zaid Serafi and Faran Tahir of Star Trek, Iron Man and Charlie Wilson’s War.

Fairuza To Spend A Spooky Weekend In Florida

Is there any other kind. The next in what is now officially a string of convention appearances for Balk will be in Orlando Florida from October 9 to the 11th for Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend. other guests include Adrienne Barbeau, Tippi Hedren, Sid Haig, George Romero and HG Lewis

Ru To Host The MPP 4th Annual Party at the Playboy Mansion

On June 4 Balk will be at the Playboy Mansion hosting the fourth Marijuana Policy Project party. The evening will include a “live fire and glow performance”…or at least people will walk away in the frame of mind to believe they saw whatever it is to which that refers.

Ru to Spend a Frightmare Weekend in Texas

Another convention appearance added to the itinerary, this time at “the southwest’s premiere horror convention”, Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas. The event runs from May 1st to the 3rd and also features Tobe Hooper, Alice Cooper, Linda Blair, Barbara Steele, Karen Black, Lena Heady, Thomas Dekker, William Forsythe and David F. Friedman.

The Heart Is A Drum Machine Premiere

Fairuza will be at the Phoenix Art Museum this Friday to co-host the premiere of Christopher Pomerenke’s documentary The Heart Is A Drum Machine  with Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver, both of whom are interviewed in the film which “explores the connection between music and the human experience”
