Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

Will this be released on DVD?

Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

I'm sure it will, but I think it will get at least a limited theatrical release before that happens.

Set for the 59th International Film Festival Locarno

Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

Hi ultra,

Locarno you say!? That isn't far away from where I live. Only about four hours to drive there and see the film. Unfortunately I haven't got time to go there, because I will move out at the end of the month and still much to do.

Till then,

Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

Set for the True West Film Festival in Boise

Excerpt:

...Another invited film, Wild Tigers I Have Known written and directed by Cam Archer, also premiered at Sundance this year. "It's one of these wildly original films," says Rae. "It's been at every lesbian film festival in the world ... he's raised a lot of eyebrows."

Bayne agrees, "The film is really great," he says. "It was done for a low budget and [Archer is] having success on the festival circuit." It's the kind of film that without True West, might not otherwise make it to Boise--perhaps because it tells the story of a lonely teenage boy who creates an alternate feminine persona while he harbors a crush on another boy...

Entertainment Weekly's calendar in the Fall Movie Preview issue has the theatrical release here as Oct. 4. No word on Europe there or at IMDb.

Bay Windows: Movies by, for and about the gays

Pertinant part:

...More promising, though, is the Gus Van Sant-produced Wild Tigers I Have Known (Oct. 4). This could be a sleeper hit. While coming of age stories are a flash in the pan, this one, written and directed by Cam Archer, looks more than promising. Thirteen-year-old Logan (Malcolm Stumpf, who played Madonna?s kid in The Next Best Thing) copes with his budding homosexuality when he falls for the popular kid in class. Expect edginess, but quality from anything Van Sant is a part of. Think a gayer version of Elephant...

Going to London

Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

Hi folks,

now there's an offical website (http://www.wildtigersfilm.com). There are some photos with fairuza in the gallery. It looks like she plays a nice mom, who is laughing with her son Logan.

I hope this movie will someday also be shown at a german cinema. A DVD would be nice too.;-)

Till then,

Re: Wild Tigers I Have Known at Sarasota Film Festival

i saw the movie yesterday, i liked it  although fairuza played at only 4 scenes. the music was great too. Also the director was there aswering questions at the end of the movie. I asked him when it will be released on dvd, he said next year propably, he also said that the film has many autobiographicall moments . Generally was a nice film but i little bit bold. fairuza was great!
